Icon of the Seas is just the first of three sister ships Royal Caribbean has on order for delivery by 2026 that will represent an all-new class of vessels at the line — to be called the Icon class. The line also has one more Oasis-class ship on order for delivery in 2024.

It's designed to comfortably house 5,610 passengers under the typical double occupancy arrangement, but at full capacity, it can host up to 7,600 passengers. Add in up to 2,350 crew members, and there could be almost 10,000 people on the cruise ship at any one time. In June 2023, the new 'Icon of the Seas' cruise ship set sail for the first time for its sea trials. Catering to 4,000 passengers, the new ship’s atrium features an Aladdin theme and an overall adventure motif throughout the vessel. New onboard attractions include Plaza de Coco, an interactive dining experience inspired by the movie Coco and Jumbeaux's Sweet Shop, drawing from Zootopia.
And there's plenty of room to spare for pools, waterslides and a kiddie splash zone. Every one of the vessels can hold more than 5,000 people with every berth filled. All of them offer dozens of restaurants and bars, Broadway-style entertainment, casinos and lots of deck-top attractions. Spanning nearly 1,200 feet, the cruise ship has 20 decks, which makes the Icon of the Seas the world's largest cruise ship. The fourth vessel in the line's groundbreaking Oasis Class series of ships also offers a never-before-seen array of onboard attractions. The four ships mentioned above aren't the only giant new cruise vessels to debut in the last year or two. Europe-based Costa Cruises and Aida Cruises also have unveiled massive new ships since 2018 that rank among the 10 biggest cruise ships ever built -- Costa Smeralda and AIDAnova.
Looking ahead, Queen Anne's 2025 maiden world voyage is a 111-night journey featuring destinations like Honolulu, Sydney, Penang and the Suez Canal, with prices starting at $17,500 per person. In its first year, Utopia is set to specialize in short three and four-day cruises from its Port Canaveral base. Mardi Gras will hold up to 6,630 passengers per sailing with every berth filled. Featuring 28-room types on board, layouts have been designed with for families in mind and can accommodate three, four, five guests in options like the Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite.
